I'm astounded. I had to keep turning the pages. I even hit refresh maybe one too many times. To quote Ben Affleck when he was covering sports on NESN ahead of when we finally won the World Series in 2004, "it's like I woke up in some kind of bizarro world; the Sox were doing well [late in the season], the Celtics were up, and the Bruins look like they have a shot..." Open mic brought a lot of new faces last week, giving it the kind of regular magic brought about whenever musical forces collide, and then choose to go on and combine musical DNA to make up something new.

Worrying after the matters of Uglification and Derision.

Yup, I saw it. People asked me what I thought about it. I gave them a very drawn out "Ok laaaaa". The 3-D was a lot more gimicky than the more subtle delineations of Avatar, and clearly the story was changed quite a bit, but the CG was nice and the acting - generally good. And you might not like her, but I thought the White Queen was pretty nifty.

It's a mad world.
